This coming Thursday, August 4, has been designated as Duck Day at the Piqua Community Farmers Market. From 3:30 – 6:30 p.m. visitors to the market will have the opportunity to adopt ducks for the Rockin’ River Duck Drop to be held later this month at Lock 9 Park and have some ducky fun! The Piqua Community Farmers Market is held on High Street in front of the Piqua Public Library each Thursday from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m. During Duck Day at the Market anyone who purchases a quack pack (six ducks for $25) will get a free market dollar that is able to be used at any vendor at the market.
The Rockin’ River Duck Drop is a fundraiser for Mainstreet Piqua and single duck adoptions are available for $5 per duck or six for $25. The Rockin River Duck Drop will be held on Saturday, August 20 at 6 p.m., immediately prior to the last Rock Piqua! Riverfront Concert Series featuring Spungeworthy and 1988. The ducks will be dropped into the river by PSC Crane and Rigging about a half mile east of the Lock 9 Park. The ducks will make their way to a chute and the first three ducks across the finish line and the last place duck; will receive cash and merchandise valued at over $2,000.
