Piqua Arts Council and Mainstreet Piqua once again will be hosting the Rock Piqua! Riverfront Concert Series at Lock Nine Park on June 17, July 15, and August 19 this year. Each concert will once again feature various genres of music starting with 80’s to Today, Motown & Rockabilly and ending with Modern Country.
Rock Piqua! will kick off with Spungewurthy starting at 7pm on June 17. Spungewurthy has been together since early 2001 and has been performing at clubs regularly in Cincinnati, Dayton, and Columbus. They play mostly “dancey rock” music, but they also have a country section, a hip hop section, a classic rock section, and a straight dance section. After Spungewurthy, Brother Believe Me from Lima will be taking the stage. The members of Brother Believe Me hail from across Ohio including Lima and Cleveland. New singer Jon Drake is a renowned rock vocalist and multi-instrumentalist from Cleveland. Founding members Jason Wheeler on guitar, and Brian Carpenter on drums have been with the band since its inception. Chris Brokamp plays bass and provides backing vocals. All members have played in many successful area bands such as Splendid Chaos, LessR, Gatlin, and Nemesis. They now bring those years of experience into one of the most exciting and entertaining acts in the Midwest.
Food trucks joining Rock Piqua! for the first concert will be Susie’s Big Dipper and Tin Roof Mobile.
