Mainstreet Piqua Seeks Grand Marshal
Do you know someone whose contribution to our community, or the area, has gone unnoticed or unrecognized? We are looking for just that kind of person! Mainstreet Piqua is currently accepting nominations for be the grand marshal of the Downtown Piqua Holiday Parade to be held on Saturday, December 3 at 2 p.m.
The grand marshal of the holiday parade is a ceremonial position and past honorees have included Vets to D.C. Founder Glenn Devers, former downtown business owner Doug Stilwell, former Mayor Lucy Fess, community volunteer Artie Parker, high school sports teams and even the Piqua Heritage Festival.
If you know of someone, or an organization, worthy of the honor please send a letter of nomination to Mainstreet Piqua at PO Box 1703, Piqua, OH 45356. The Downtown Piqua Holiday Parade is held during the Holiday Experiences in Piqua weekend. The weekend features Christmas on the Green on Friday, December 2 and the Holly Jolly 5k/10k Run and the Downtown Piqua Holiday Parade on Saturday, December 3. Organizations or businesses interested in participating in the Holiday Parade are encouraged to call Mainstreet Piqua for an application.
