Best Main Street™ Committee Event Honorable Mention

This year’s honorable mention for the Best Main Street Committee Event is Darrin Michael with the Jason Takes Mainstreet event in Piqua, OH.

Main Street Piqua board chair, Darrin Michael, found a way to engage hundreds of community members in the fall of 2020 while still maintaining COVID 19 guidelines. In order to execute this, he came up with the idea for a community-wide scavenger hunt to find a replica Jason mask. Clues to the mask’s whereabouts were announced on the local radio station and later posted to the Facebook pages of the event’s sponsors. This event was able to rally the community together, even though they weren’t together physically. Eventually, a father and son duo found the mask and were awarded.

The annual Preservation and Revitalization Conference will be taking place this October 18th-20th in Springfield, OH.
