THURSDAY, OCT. 1 — JASON TAKES MAINSTREET 7: THE HUNT RETURNS TO PIQUA!
Jason is returning to Piqua for the seventh year of the Mainstreet Piqua scavenger hunt, and the search begins Thursday, October 1.
Once again, Jason’s infamous mask will be hidden somewhere within Piqua, and participants will have to follow a series of clues scattered throughout social media to track it down. Whoever finds the mask first will take home a prize package made possible by this year’s participating sponsors.
A special thank you goes out to all of the local businesses supporting Jason Takes Mainstreet 7. Their contributions help make the event possible and bring a new round of clues, challenges and prizes to Piqua.
How the Hunt Works
Beginning Thursday, October 1, a new clue will be released each weekday, Monday through Friday, at 9:15 AM.
The clues will be posted on the Facebook pages of the event’s sponsors in a randomized order. That means there is no single page to follow for every clue. Participants should follow all of the sponsor pages listed below, along with the Mainstreet Piqua Facebook page, to make sure they don’t miss a clue.
The item you are searching for is a replica of Jason’s mask from Friday the 13th (2009). The mask will be sealed inside a small, weather-resistant camping dry bag to help protect it from the elements.
The mask will be hidden somewhere on public property within Piqua city limits.
There are a few important rules regarding the hiding location:
- The mask will not be hidden on school property. This includes Piqua City Schools, Edison State Community College and the Upper Valley Career Center. Those areas are completely off-limits.
- Jason did not lose the mask in any local cemetery. Please do not look for it in any of those.
- The mask will not be hidden inside any of the sponsoring businesses. There is no reason to search inside a business for the mask, although participants are encouraged to stop in and support the local businesses taking part in this year’s event.
- Only three people know the exact location of the mask.
Found the Mask?
- If you believe you have found Jason’s mask, you must physically have the mask in your possession before announcing that you have found it.
- Once you have it, contact the Mainstreet Piqua Facebook page or bring the mask directly to the Mainstreet Piqua office during regular business hours.
- The mask contains a unique identifier that will be used to verify the official winner.
- Please do not falsely claim that you have found the mask. Anyone who announces or messages that they have found it without actually having the mask will be immediately disqualified.
- For the person who legitimately finds it, there will be an awesome prize package waiting!

To keep the clue distribution fair among participating sponsors, the order was selected using an online randomizer. Each sponsor will host one clue during the hunt.
