Get ready for a “quacking” good time! Mainstreet Piqua is thrilled to present the 11th Annual Rockin’ River Duck Drop and 2nd Annual Jeep Cruise-In, happening Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Lock 9 Park in downtown Piqua.
This high-spirited community event promises fun for the whole family. At approximately 6:00 p.m., hundreds of bright yellow rubber ducks will be launched into the river for a one-of-a-kind race (weather permitting), and you can join in on the excitement by adopting your racing duck today! Lucky ducks could win a $1,000 cash prize or one of many other amazing giveaways.
Ducks are available for adoption now at www.mainstreetpiqua.com, at the Mainstreet Piqua office (326 N. Main Street), the Piqua Farmers’ Market, PiquaFest, and several participating downtown businesses. Duck adoptions close at midnight on Wednesday, August 13.
Adding horsepower to the event is the 2nd Annual Jeep Cruise-In, where Jeep enthusiasts can show off their rides and support a great cause. Jeep registration includes duck adoptions, and the first 50 registered Jeeps will receive a custom rubber duck keepsake! People’s Choice trophies will be awarded in five fun categories, and registration is available online or at the Mainstreet Piqua office.
The evening will also feature live entertainment on the Trevino Performance Pavilion with a concert by local country favorite Haywired, performing from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Guests can enjoy raffle baskets, games, kids’ activities, and visit with surprise guests throughout the park.
Before the big drop, young artists are encouraged to take part in the Rockin’ River Duck Drop Coloring Contest. Coloring pages are available for pick-up at the Piqua Public Library, The Piqua Center, Susie’s Big Dipper, Papa John’s, This ‘n That’s Candy on Main, and Bits & Pieces Rolled Ice Cream.
